Team dinner + US Army Lax

Had a great dinner last night. Paige arranged a room at a hotel a block away from the playing fields. Coincidentally, US Lacrosse was having dinner there as well.

Joe Alberici, Head Coach of US Army Lax at WestPoint stopped in and gave a memorable speech.
  • Grades are #1, Lax skills alone won't get you in
  • Make good choices, a history of booze and drugs will disqualify you
  • Give 100%, 100% of the time. 110% doesn't exist, but you need give 100 x 100

What a great thing for the boys to hear! I just read that to Michael. We heard the exact same thing back East and Michael heard it again from Coach Sully from OES! Good grades, no drugs or drinking, make good choices, give 100%!. What a great thing to know that to play higher level lacrosse kids also need to be interested in getting a good education. Thanks for posting all this Brian, we appreciate back home.
